• Both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who play Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett respectively, are up to appear in Bad Boys 5.
  • Will Smith confirmed his willingness to reappear while saying that if the studio has a good story, he will be back, no questions asked.
  • In a recent interview, Lawrence also confirmed that Sony is interested in making Bad Boys 5, but they don’t have a script as of now.

“Bad Boys, Bad Boys, What You Gonna Do When They Come For You.” This title track was on the mind of every person who watched Bad Boys when the movie first came out in 2003, and since then, generation after generation has been grooving on this track. Most recently, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the fourth installment of the franchise, was released and took Hollywood by storm, breaking charts left, right, and center. Most fans believed this movie was going to conclude the franchise. But, there has been chatter of a Bad Boys 5 movie happening, and I’m here to tell you all about it.

What Are The Possibilities of Bad Boys 5 Happening?

After the enthralling performance delivered by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, no one would complain if Mike and Marcus made a comeback on the big screen. Some time back, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly , Lawrence was asked about the prospects of Bad Boys 5 ever happening. To this, he responded by saying:

“We’ll have to see, You know I never say never, but it [Bad Boys 5] also has to make sense. If the fans ask for it, you know we could be back.”

Based on this comment, it seems obvious that the fate of this franchise is heavily in the hands of the fanbase (not really, though, right? The bigwig studios get to make those decisions). As far as I think, fans, including myself, do wish to see the dynamic duo back on our screens. We will see if we have been heard or not.

What Does Will Smith Have to Say About Bad Boys 5?

Will Smith, in the same interview as Lawrence, expressed his desire to return as Mike Lowrey in Bad Boys 5. The actor confirmed that he is always open to playing the character again. Will Smith stated that working on Bad Boys has been an absolute joy and further shared an extremely good condition to mark his return in the franchise. He commented,

“I never wanted to be one of those dudes who make sequels just because people will go. I want to make them because there is something to say and the characters have a place that they’re developing to that will be interesting and fun to watch and maybe even a little helpful.”

With that being said, it’s safe to say that whenever we get to see the next Bad Boys on screen, it will most definitely turn out to be not just a cash cow but something that is actually worth watching just like Ride or Die.

Recently, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight , Lawrence was again asked about the future of The Bad Boys Franchise. To this question, the actor shared an exciting response, saying that he and Will have not talked about a story for Bad Boys 5, but Sony seems to be pretty interested in making the movie . In his comment, he stated,

“It means a great deal to me because that was me and Will’s baby. You know, that’s what we started with. And to get four strong, successful films out of them, we couldn’t ask for much more. And hopefully, as long as the audience wants to see them, we’ll be able to put them out . I think we gotta give you five. That’s what I’m thinking. Me and Will Smith haven’t talked about an idea or nothing, but the studio is.”

So, now that Martin himself has confirmed that Sony is interested in making Bad Boys 5, there is a good chance that we will get news of an upcoming sequel to Ride or Die very soon. With the current information we have, things look rather positive for the franchise. That said, let’s wait and see what happens and till then, stay tuned!

2025 proved a blessing for cinephiles, offering a wide range of movies and television series. While some of the movies were released in theatres, others arrived on streaming services. In fact, there are also some that several fans missed watching in theatres. So, with the year coming to an end, we have listed the five best movies of 2025 that you can stream on Netflix right now.

1. Frankenstein

  • Release Date: November 7, 2025
  • Director: Guillermo del Toro
  • Cast: Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz
  • IMDb/ Rotten Tomatoes: 7.5/ 85%

Netflix’s Frankenstein is one of the best screen adaptations of the 1818 classic novel. Do you think you know the movie’s story? Well, you might be proved wrong. Frankenstein was Guillermo del Toro’s dream project, so he crafted a brilliant story based on the original. Well, the best part of his vision was that he didn’t make the creature seem like a mere horror; instead, he allowed us to see the creature’s human side.

Frankenstein follows Victor Frankenstein, a scientist, who is fascinated with death. So, he creates a creature using the body parts of the corpses. However, after the creature comes to life, Victor becomes frustrated with its appearance and the way it speaks and moves. He abandons him, but the creature, unable to accept rejection, follows Victor to seek answers.

2. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

  • Release Date: December 12, 2025
  • Director: Rian Johnson
  • Cast: Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, Thomas Haden Church
  • IMDb/ Rotten Tomatoes: 7.5/ 93%

A Knives Out Mystery film never disappoints, and Wake Up Dead Man raised everyone’s expectations from the franchise even more. Unlike the previous instalments, this one comes with a more serious and intriguing plot. On top of everything, Daniel Craig’s Blanc has evolved more than ever and appears as a fully realised detective in Wake Up Dead Man.

The story of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery kicks off with the murder of a religious leader in a small upstate New York church. A troubled priest of the church becomes the prime suspect, but when Blanc enters the picture, he instantly realises there is more beneath the surface that has not yet come to light.

3. KPop Demon Hunters

  • Release Date: June 20, 2025
  • Director: Maggie Kang, Chris Appelhans
  • Cast: Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, Lee Byung-hun
  • IMDb/ Rotten Tomatoes: 7.5/ 95%

KPop Demon Hunters arrived on Netflix in June 2025 and, within days, garnered a huge fanbase for its stylish animation and top-notch visuals. Instead of just being a parody of KPop, it features behind-the-scenes, idol training, stage personas, and everything in the most subtle way. Above all, we also see the lead protagonists dealing with the supernatural while maintaining their normal lives.

Kpop Demon Hunters follow a girl group, who are Kpop idols during the day and trained demon hunters at night. They have taken on the responsibility of protecting the human world from the demonic threats that emerge from time to time. So, basically, when on stage, they are not only performing for their audience, but they are also creating an energy with their music that weakens the demons, keeping their fans safe.

4. Bring Her Back

  • Release Date: May 29, 2025
  • Director: Danny Philippou, Michael Philippou
  • Cast: Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, Jonah Wren Phillips, Sally Hawkins
  • IMDb/ Rotten Tomatoes: 7.1/ 89%

Bring Her Back is one of those horror movies that depends on cheap jump scares. Instead, it makes the horror feel personal wth the unsettling setting and the uneasy silences. Besides that, it features a slow-burning story that rewards those who unapologetically stick to it until the very end.

Andy and Piper are placed in the care of a foster mother, Laura, after the death of their father. As the story moves forward, Laura is seen desperate to bring her dead daughter back to life. So, she decides to use blind Piper as a vessel.

5. Counterattack

  • Release Date: February 28, 2025
  • Director: Chava Cartas
  • Cast: Luis Alberti, Noe Hernandez, Leonardo Alonso, Luis Curiel, David Leon, Guillermo Nava
  • IMDb/ Rotten Tomatoes: 6/ 69%

There are rare movies out there that skip the over-explaining part and put the focus entirely on the central point, and Counterattack is one among those golden gems in existence. It is a Mexican movie that jumps straight into the action and follows a tight script throughout, without feeling rushed at any point. If you enjoy action films, this one is perfectly suitable for you.

The movie follows Captain Armando Guerrero, the lead officer of a Mexican special unit tasked with carrying out a routine operation. However, unknowingly, they cross paths and come in the way of a brutal drug cartel, and become their targets.
