Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 is finally here, and it indeed surpassed our expectations. It has everything that makes it worth the long wait. The much-awaited final chapter brought all our favourite characters back together, and it also introduced us to a new character named Mr. Whatsit. But hello, did you notice that this newbie is utterly famous among the kids of Hawkins, including Mike’s sister, Holly Wheeler? So, who exactly is Mr. Whatsit in Stranger Things Season 5?

Mr. Whatsit is none other than Vecna, aka Henry Creel, in Stranger Things Season 5 . The first episode of Stranger Things Season 5 begins with seeing Will Byers in The Upside Down . We see the little boy being chased by a Demogorgon, who eventually takes him to Vecna . After that, the scene cuts to the present time at the Wheeler residence. That’s when we meet Holly, Mike’s super cute younger sister, who is seen arranging plates on the table and calling everyone for breakfast. Suddenly, the girl is seen waving at someone standing outside the house. Later, Holly is seen talking to a man by the school fence. However, when Holly’s teacher arrived, she could see the girl talking to herself.
Well, it wasn’t tough to predict who this new character with the strange name in Stranger Things is. But it was exciting to see how his true identity gets revealed in the second episode of the finale. Holly gets attacked by a Demogorgon at her own house. She manages to escape her room and reach her mother (Karen) in the bathroom. The flickering lights of the house catch Holly’s father (Ted) playing golf outside. When he steps inside, he tries to fight the creature, but his efforts go in vain when the Demogorgon lands a heavy attack on him.
Later, Karen tries to fight it, but she is knocked down by the outworldly creature as well. The Demogorgon takes Holly to The Upside Down. Mike and Nancy try harder to find their sister, and that’s when they come up with a plan to find out if Mr. Whatsit is behind all this. Nancy and Mike, disguised as a Nurse and a patient, respectively, entered the room, when Karen Wheeler was and asked her if she knew anything about the person who could be behind their sister’s disappearance.
Karen doesn’t seem to know the person directly, but when Nancy calls out Mr. Whatsit’s name, she writes down everything she knows about Holly’s imaginary friend on the notepad. She tells them that Holly told her that this guy is tall, wears a vest, and carries a pocket watch. Karen also writes that he is gentle and kind. When Nancy asks Karen if Holly ever mentioned Mr. Whatsit’s first name, that’s when she writes ‘HENRY.’
Why Vecna Uses Mr. Whatsit’s Name in Stranger Things Season 5?
In Stranger Things Season 5, Vecna appears as Mr. Whatsit to the kids, manipulating them and leading them to his world. Well, do you know why he uses Mr. Whatsit’s name? As we all know by now, Stranger Things Season 5 will be divided into three different volumes, and the one we just witnessed was the first among them. The first four episodes concluded the first volume, and Episodes 5, 6, and 7 of Stranger Things Season 5 will be released with volume 2 on December 25, 2025 . The upcoming episode will carry significant weight because Episode 4 finally revealed that Will has powers similar to those of Vecna , which opens a new door for possibilities that could be explored.

What Do We Know About the Upcoming Gundam Movie?

This new live-action adaptation of Gundam was announced all the way back in 2018, and Legendary Pictures was brought in as a co-producer. However, back then, details about the project were quite limited. Following this reveal, in 2021, Netflix confirmed that Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct the movie. The filming was set to begin in 2023, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it never began, and later, we heard that the movie will not be made forward.
However, in 2025, it came to light that Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo were in talks with Legendary to star in the movie. Now, in 2026, a report by Deadline confirms that Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo will be starring in the live-action Gundam movie , and Netflix is on board to be the main distributor.
The filming of this project will begin in March 2026 and will be shot in multiple locations across Australia and the United Kingdom. So, let’s wait and see what Netflix and Legendary bring us with this live-action adaptation.
