The upcoming GOT sequel, Ghost of Yotei, will feature a female protagonist named Atsu.
Sucker Punch has already confirmed that Erika Ishii has played the role of Atsu in their new game.
Atsu is confirmed to go on a revenge quest to take down six monsters responsible for the murder of her family.

It’s official that Jin Sakai will pass the baton to Atsu , the new face of the Ghost of Yotei franchise. The developers have noted that they have held on to the “Ghost” theme and continue to tell the tale of a new legendary ghost in Feudal Japan. That is why we are getting the Ghost of Yotei instead of a Ghost of Tsushima 2 .

At Sucker Punch, we love origin stories, and we wanted to explore what it could mean to have a new hero wearing a Ghost mask and uncovering a new legend.

Initially, the developers remarked that this game will focus on the tale of an underdog’s vengeance . The latest trailer completely disclosed the role of Atsu in Ghost of Yotei. Atsu, a vengeful spirit, embarks on a quest for vengeance to slay the six monsters who brutally murdered her family and left her for dead.

Atsu is believed to be of Ainu descent, the indigenous people of Northern Japan, as we meet an Ainu character in the recent trailer. The Ainu people were subjected to discrimination during the Edo period, as recorded in our real-life history. So, Ghost of Yotei is expected to primarily explore the lives of Ainu people from Ezo.

Thus, we can expect Atsu to be a less powerful character who seeks retribution at first. As the story progresses, we need to master various weapons and the art of combat to become the next Ghost in town. In addition to wielding a Katana, Atsu was also seen having a spear, dual katanas, a shamisen (Japanese musical instrument) on her back, and a pet wolf by her side.
