- Split is a three-lane map in Valorant that is heavily favored toward the defensive side and contains multiple zip lines.
- Raze, Gekko, and Omen are the ideal agents for this map while Sova or Cypher can help you gather info.
- Knowing important callouts like vents, sewer, and garage can help you while playing Split.
Split is one of the fan-favorite maps in Valorant that thankfully packs little to no gimmicks. Since the map is full of elevated spots, it leans towards a defensive advantage. Split is also a bit closer to any other tactical shooter map. However, as time has passed, Split in Valorant has become challenging. Well, we felt the same and decided to do something about it. To help you with that, we’ve compiled a dedicated guide on the Split map in Valorant that covers everything. So, with that, let’s begin.
Valorant Split Minimap Layout Overview
Split is a traditional three-lane map . It is slightly smaller than other maps in the game. Both attacker and defender spawns connect to A and B sites, and the map also has a mid area that connects with the A and B sites.
A site heaven connects to a vent that extends to the mid area. On the other side, B heaven connects mid-area through an extended stairway. For attackers, the mid area connects from the outside garage and A sewers.

Split is a mix of high and low grounds in every location. The B site is connected to the B heaven area through a zip line. However, A site heaven can only be reached by walking down the A main ramp.
The whole map contains multiple zips as one of its main tactics. Despite that, the map does not feel too gimmicky. Lanes are simple and very typical, like any other tactical shooter map. Defending seems slightly favorable due to the defensive link to the sites seeming smaller.
Valorant Split Map: Callouts
Let us look at the common and important callouts in the Split map in Valorant.
Split A site Callouts
A site has two parts; let us start with the entry section. A main to A site callouts are:
- A Ramp
- Under Heaven
- A Platform
- Screens

The plant location callouts for A site are:
- A Heaven
- Elbow
- Default
- Spam Screen

Split Mid Callouts
The mid area plays a crucial role in Split. Here are the callouts for this location:
- Stairs
- Vents
- Cubby
- Sewer

Split B site Callouts
B Site of Split is simple and is divided by a huge pillar; the front view callouts from here are:
- B Garage
- Double Box
- B Heaven
- B Platform
- B Default

The backside of the Split B site is simple, and the major callouts here are:
- CT
- B Longplant/ Open Plant
- B Backsite

Agents for Split Map in Valorant
Split is a short map, but attacking is difficult due to the easier defensive rotations. That is why strengthening the attack is always a priority for Split. A lot of the time, a professional team will go with a double duelist comp with Raze and Yoru . Both duelists can enter the site fast and effortlessly. However, Yoru can be a difficult agent if not learned well. In that case, you can replace it with a Jett or Reyna.
While duelists give you the attacking power, these attacks will fail without proper initiators and information. That is why a Gekko and Sova can be great on Split. Some comps will also prefer a Skye in the mix. In that case, Skye must mix between being an initiator and flex.
The selection of controller and sentinel should be easy on Split. As information and map control is the key to victory, Cypher and Omen are the perfect duos to wrap up the team composition in this map. However, if you play a different sentinel like Sage to delay mid-control, Viper has to be the controller, as she also contributes to the defensive actions. Here are the best agents you can play on Split in Valorant:
- Raze
- Yoru
- Gekko
- Sage
- Skye
- Cypher
- Omen
Valorant Split Map Tactics and Strategies
Split is all about packing a resilient team. If the team works in synergy, being a solid defensive map becomes a myth. This is due to how the mid-round fights decide the round wins in this map. Also, being a small map plays a key role for the teams with faster executions. With that said, let us look at some cool strategies, tactics, tips & tricks for the Split map in Valorant
1. Information Is Your Best Friend
Having information about enemy positioning is a key part of Valorant. But in Split, that becomes even more vital. As the map is tiny in dimensions, pushing a site or rotating it is easier. That is why gathering information is crucial. Having a defensive Cypher is a must in Split for this reason.

On the attacker site, Skye or Sova can get you crucial intel. If you get early information on enemy defense, pushing into site as a duelist becomes easier. Make sure you keep this tip in mind when playing Split. Fade can also be an alternative agent to seek out intel. But she comes with a lack of something extra that Skye possesses.
2. Do not Lose Mid-Control
Before jumping in Split, remember that the mid-area here is more important than any other map part. As a defensive side, the controller should always smoke mid , or multiple agents should hold B heaven and the vents together.
You can also pick Sage and wall off mid or delay mid-push using the slow orbs for an extended period. In attack, you can also use Skye’s beast in mid and push with it to take over the mid. If mid is under your control, you can push A or B sites as you wish, as both are easy to reach from mid.
3. Go Ham with Judge and Frenzy
Many times in Split, coming back from the brink of defeat is possible thanks to the power of Judge and Frenzy . So, if you are on low buy, grab a Judge or a couple of Frenzy, and push mid. It is easier to take control of B heaven by using these guns. Having a Raze or Omen to catch the defending agents off guard is the key.

However, you must keep an eye out for an enemy Judge user. As the stairs area is a bit congested, you can get stuck in the middle and get the wrath of the Judge on your face.
4. Use High Ground as an Advantage
Another key point you should keep in mind is Split’s height advantage s. The map is full of elevated locations, so you will always have to adjust your aim. That is why you should take control of the high ground as soon as possible. The vision advantage, along with more places to swing around in higher locations, helps you in better duels.
