Stranger Things has been the favourite of almost everyone who is into the science fiction genre. Many of us grew up watching the lead actors grow up on the sets of the long-running television series. So, obviously, the fifth season that has arrived on Netflix recently, with the first four episodes, was something that fans had been waiting for since the final moment of Season 4. However, after Stranger Things Season 5 debuted on the streaming service, it started trending, but unfortunately, not for good reasons.
Fans Think Something Is Off in Stranger Things Season 5
Stranger Things Season 5 has relied too much on CGI-heavy scenes, leading to the downfall of the cinematic spectacle that made the show a household name. Fans also felt that everything was too bright, which wasn’t needed at all. Besides that, there were a few outdoor shoots, as most were shot in the studio, which doesn’t look impressive. Stranger Things Season 4 was too good to be a series, and the fifth installment looks as if it was shot with an iPhone. This is what a Reddit post reads.
Some fans also took it to X and started calling out the not-so-brilliant acting, the fake setups, and the rushed pacing. Few have addressed that the actors who looked passionate in the previous seasons don’t look the same anymore. In fact, there have been instances when it felt as if they were reading their lines in front of the camera; the natural thing is all gone. The episodes were rushed, and the audience didn’t have a chance to spend much time with the characters. Moreover, a user on X states that, “ First two episodes are boring as HELL, everything’s moving too fast like cmon u give viewers 5 years break, and now u want us to catch up that fast ?”
“ The show really struggles with its large cast, and most get only a few truly meaningful things to do. The plot feels like it barely advances, and there’s a weird lack of momentum ,” says another X user. The settings and the cinematography shouldn’t have been an issue if the acting had been incredible, as in the previous season. Also, the season created massive hype, with creators calling it the most expensive season to date. But it seems the heavy budget negatively affected it.
However, the Final Scene Saved the Day for Stranger Things Season 5 Part 1
The initial episodes felt quite dull compared to those in previous seasons. But those who made it to the final episode feel the struggle to keep up with the series was worth it when the final sequence hit the screens. Well, no one saw that coming- just when Mike, Lucas, and Robin were about to get attacked by the Demogorgons, Will Byers awakens. Yes, it was he and not El who fought Vecna’s minions this time. Every bit of the sequence was peak, be it the cinematography, the timing, or everything involved.
So, now Hawkins has a new hero, who will indeed team up with Eleven to knock down Vecna in the remaining volumes.
