Before the Yonkos, the Five Elders, or even Imu stepped into the picture, the Marine Admirals used to be the biggest adversaries in One Piece. They are still the villains haunting every pirate’s dreams even in the final saga. If you think back, Luffy is the only pirate known to have defeated an Admiral (Kizaru) in the story, albeit the Luffy vs Kizaru rematch played out on a different note.

On the other hand, Admiral Akainu defeated his fellow Admiral Aokiji in their battle to secure the Fleet Admiral position. Jumping ahead to the latest events, Oda sensei has revealed the first-ever pirate to not only defeat an admiral but also to kill him in One Piece chapter 1154.

The backstory of King Harald and his son Loki is underway in the Elbaf arc right now. One of the unexpected figures we expected to meet on Elbaf island is Rocks D. Xebec . Loki spilled the truth about his idol , Xebec’s Elbaf visit, in One Piece chapter 1145. Now, Rocks D. Xebec’s visit to Elbaf is being explored by Oda, starting with One Piece chapter 1154, where the author officially introduces him. Earlier, King Harald stated that he was able to escape from the Reverie because of a murder that took place that day.

Now, the author has disclosed that the murder has to do with Rocks D. Xebec. Rocks, the infamous pirate, is credited with killing an admiral all on his own 56 years ago. This was before Xebec formed the Rocks Pirates , and it should be noted that this was the period when Garp, Sengoku, and Tsuru just enrolled in the Marines.

Additionally, we don’t know much about the admiral who was killed, as we are unfamiliar with the Marines from this timeline.

By killing an admiral during the Reverie in Mary Geoise, the Holy Land, Rocks D. Xebec unlocked a ruthless achievement that no one has ever done in One Piece. The angered World Government couldn’t sweep this homicide under the rug, so they put a gigantic bounty on his head. Sadly, for the fans, Rocks D. Xebec’s bounty has not been revealed yet.

“I think about ten men should do,” Luffy said when he set out to form a pirate crew and become the next Pirate King. Over time, Luffy gathered nine crewmates in his boisterous adventures, the latest recruit being Jinbe in the Wano Country arc. So, with only one spot left to fill, the fandom continues to clash and theorize over who will be the destined tenth member of the next Straw Hat Pirates. Vivi is one of the strong contenders, and Yamato also left a lasting impression on Luffy.

But, I believe it’s time we forget both of them (not literally) as contenders for joining the Straw Hats crew. Well, a new character from Elbaf has emerged as a top contender. Luffy himself has asked him to join the Straw Hat Pirates crew in the One Piece manga.

One Piece fans had heard about Loki and were curious to learn all about him as we approached the Elbaf island. However, things took quite a wild turn with Loki’s character. We didn’t expect him to be the shame of Elbaf.

Since the start of the Elbaf arc, Luffy is the only character who believed there is more to Loki than all the terrible things people say about him. The Straw Hats’ captain never misses the mark when it comes to reading someone’s personality. So, Luffy and Loki have developed a bond since their fated meeting.

With the arrival of Imu on Elbaf through Gunko, one of the God’s Knight members, nightmares and converted demon soldiers are running amok in the Homeland of the Giants. Luffy, along with Zoro and Sanji, has learned about the havoc in the Sun World.

In the latest One Piece chapter 1152, Loki wants to be freed to fight against the God’s Knights, but the rest of the giants aren’t convinced about setting him free. They have every right to be worried about freeing the king slayer.

That is when Luffy steps up and asks Loki to join his crew . Luffy has always been a great judge of character, as I mentioned earlier. When he wants someone on his crew, he never fails to ask them right away, as seen with all the crew members who have joined until now. Even his wings, Zoro and Sanji, are on board with this idea, but they are more worried about how Loki will fit inside their ship and how they will feed a giant.

Of course, Loki refuses as he wouldn’t want to be Luffy’s underling. But this is Luffy we are talking about, a man who refuses everyone’s refusal. At the moment, Loki is sharing his side of the story about the fateful day when his father, King Harald, was slain. We are sure he will redeem himself after this, and his redemption arc is coming next in the Elbaf arc.

Loki has all the qualities to become a Straw Hat crew member. He has already got the blessings of the captain, and he has emerged to the top as a serious candidate who can become the 10th Straw Hat member. Only a handful of people, such as Gaimon, Kinemon, and others, haven’t joined the crew after Luffy asked them to, but Loki is clearly a different guy.
