The 2026 new games calendar is slowly kicking into action, and we’re already beginning to see some exciting releases hit the shelves. By all means, the rest of the year is already shaping up to be something special. If things go to plan, we’ll receive blockbusters such as Resident Evil Requiem, 007 First Light, Wolverine, Saros, Control Resonant, and more in the same 12 months.
Of course, there’s the tantalizing possibility of GTA 6 finally hitting current-gen consoles, but after recent delays, its November release date doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. There’s also an exciting slate of upcoming Xbox games, such as Halo: Campaign Evolved and Forza Horizon 6, that warrant some excitement. Upcoming Switch 2 games might not spark the same amount of hype, but you can bet on Nintendo to reveal some heavy-hitters as the year draws on.

Of course, a few Indies will hold firm, but expect the penultimate month of the year to be all about Rockstar’s latest offering – provided it doesn’t suffer from another delay.
