It has already been revealed that Rian Johnson teamed up with Daniel Craig once again to bring the fan-favorite detective to solve the darkest mystery in the franchise’s history. 3. First Look at Chopper and the Release Window of One Piece Live-Action Season 2 Revealed
While we expected a brand new trailer for season 2 of One Piece Live Action, Netflix has decided to let Chopper take the Tudum 2025 stage. The live-action Straw Hat Pirates cast, including Inaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Taz Skylar, Emily Rudd, and Jacob Romero, were present to introduce the live-action version of Tony Tony Chopper , the newest member who will serve as the crew’s doctor. Upon his arrival, Chopper confirmed that OP LA’s second season is scheduled to release sometime in 2026.
4. Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein Teaser
The Oscar-winning director, Guillermo del Toro, is back once again to direct a new movie for Netflix based on Frankenstein , the popular novel by Mary Shelley. Guillermo is known for his dark fantasy movies, and he is the most suitable director for bringing life to the Frankenstein monster. Netflix has finally released the official teaser for Frankenstein starring Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth today.
5. Happy Gilmore 2
Happy Gilmore is one of the fan-favorite Adam Sandler movies that came out all the way back in 1996. Adam Sandler has once again co-written the script for the sequel, and all the cast members, including Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, Dennis Dugan, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller, are returning for the second installment in the Happy Gilmore franchise. Netflix has confirmed Happy Gilmore 2 will release on July 25, 2025, and dropped a brand new trailer for the sequel as well.
6. Stranger Things Season 5 Release Date Announced With a Special Teaser
Even with all the announcements made so far, the world was solely looking out to new details about the final season of Stranger Things. Netflix announced that season 5 will be released in three parts and dropped the release dates with a date announcement teaser . Volume 1, featuring episodes 1-4, will release on November 26, 2025; volume 2, consisting of episodes 5-7, will release on December 25, 2025, and finally, the long-awaited finale of Stranger Things season 5 is confirmed to release on December 31, 2025. The teaser hints at the biggest showdown between the kids from Hawkins and the various horrors from the Upside Down.
7. Opening Minutes of Wednesday Season 2
Wednesday, the dark fantasy comedy series, quickly rose up as one of the most-watched TV shows in Netflix’s history. The upcoming first half of season 2 is slated to release on August 6. As the release date approaches, Netflix has released an exclusive sneak peek at Wednesday Season 2 featuring the first six opening minutes of the show.
8. Release Date of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s The Rip
Lastly, the Academy Award-winning duo, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, met the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. Then they joined the cast of The Rip, including Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, and Catalina Sandino Moreno on the stage to unveil a brand new teaser for their upcoming movie. The movie is about a group of Miami Cops who find millions in cash inside an abandoned stash house. The Rip is scheduled to premiere on January 16, 2026 .

What Do We Know About the Upcoming Gundam Movie?

This new live-action adaptation of Gundam was announced all the way back in 2018, and Legendary Pictures was brought in as a co-producer. However, back then, details about the project were quite limited. Following this reveal, in 2021, Netflix confirmed that Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct the movie. The filming was set to begin in 2023, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it never began, and later, we heard that the movie will not be made forward.
However, in 2025, it came to light that Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo were in talks with Legendary to star in the movie. Now, in 2026, a report by Deadline confirms that Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo will be starring in the live-action Gundam movie , and Netflix is on board to be the main distributor.
The filming of this project will begin in March 2026 and will be shot in multiple locations across Australia and the United Kingdom. So, let’s wait and see what Netflix and Legendary bring us with this live-action adaptation.
