• One UI 7 introduces a new two-page quick settings similar to iOS.
  • If you want to change back to the older layout, tap Edit > Panel settings > Together.
  • In case you wish to switch again to the new layout then, Edit > Panel settings > Separate.

The One UI 7 update gives a facelift to the quick settings panel, making it look cleaner. However, it also brings forth the split style quick settings layout similar to iOS on Android devices. But if you are not on board with this new look, and wish to switch to the classic merged quick settings in One UI 7 then we’ll show you how to do it in this guide.

What’s New with One UI 7 Quick Settings?

The One UI 7 update brings a complete overhaul to the design of the quick settings panel in a big way. It is not split into two sections, where the left page is reserved for incoming notifications and the right one for your toggles and other options. You can swipe to switch between the pages, or swipe down from the left for notifications and right for settings.

This gives more room for your notifications so they don’t appear cramped, and you get enough room to read them with ease. The same goes for the quick settings page, where you can add as many toggles as you would ever need. The iOS inspiration here is pretty evident, and former iPhone users will find this new system right at home.

With that said, if you aren’t willing to accept this change and still wish to switch to the older Quick Settings layout, then here are the steps to do it on One UI 7.

  1. Swipe down from the right to launch One UI’s Quick settings panel.
  2. When Quick Settings appears, tap on the pen icon at the top right.
  3. Then hit Panel settings from the top left corner.
  4. Now, select Together from the Panel settings screen and go back.
  5. Finally, tap on Done to confirm your preferences.

Once done, the quick settings and notifications page will come together as one. Swiping down once will show all your notifications and quick setting shortcuts, and swiping down again reveals your whole suite of AI apps.

In case you change your mind later, and wish to try out the new split layout again, then follow the steps above, and choose the Separate option this time instead of Together. Then tap on Done and you will have changed to the new two-page system.
