- The Stick of Truth was added to Fortnite with the 39.20 update.
- You can find the Stick of Truth during its Rift Anomaly at Cartmanland.
- The Stick of Truth allows you to choose the location of the final circle.
Collaborations in Fortnite have evolved over the years. Epic Games is constantly looking for opportunities to add collaborative items that affect gameplay. Now, with the South Park collab, Epic Games has introduced the brand new Fortnite Stick of Truth to Chapter 7 Season 1.
South Park fans will appreciate the Stick of Truth item as a deep cut. It first debuted in the 2014 RPG titled “South Park: The Stick of Truth.” Now, this iconic relic is ready to make a splash on the Golden Coast Island. Here’s how you can get your hands on this new South Park item in Chapter 7 Season 1 .
Where Does the Stick of Truth Spawn in Fortnite? Map Locations Marked
The Stick of Truth spawns at Cartmanland POI on the Fortnite Chapter 7 map when the Stick of Truth Rift Anomaly is active. Unfortunately, it is not an item that you can find in ground loot or loot chests; rather, it’s an anomaly, which will trigger in the middle of a match. When this Rift Anomaly is active, you can head to the POI on the Chapter 7 map to claim it.

Once there, you can head to the pedestal right behind the statue of Eric Cartman. Here, you can claim the Stick of Truth for yourself. We’ve also marked the location on the map above. However, since only one Stick of Truth will spawn each match and since the South Park collab is quite new, the Cartmanland POI is likely to be extremely contested every match, so be careful with your approach.
What Does the Stick of Truth Do in Fortnite?
If you manage to get your hands on the Stick of Truth, you will possess the ability to manipulate the storm by deciding where the final circle will be. You can use the Stick of Truth to choose the location where the final storm closes, even right in the middle of the water. However, since this is such a powerful ability, the Stick of Truth can only be used once during the match, which means you have to be careful about when and how you use it.

Choosing the centre of the storm can help you out in a big way, essentially making the storm bend to your will. It is important to remember that, if you choose the storm to surround you, you will also become the centre of attention for a lot of players as they try to move to the safe zone. While this might be challenging, there are some interesting competitive plays that you could pull off with this. Additionally, the Stick of Truth is only available in Unranked Battle Royale lobbies.
Each Fortnite match will have only one Stick of Truth, found at Cartmanland during the Stick of Truth Rift Anomaly.
The Stick of Truth is likely to leave on February 5, 2026, since that’s when the South Park collab is slated to end.

As of the time of writing, Epic Games has not confirmed the date and time for the next Fortnite live event. This is expected since Chapter 7 kicked off only a month ago. The Fortnite 2026 Roadmap has given us dates for patches like 39.20 on January 9, 2026 , and 39.30 on January 22, 2026 . However, none of these dates specify a live event.
However, it is important to remember that Chapter 7 Season 1 doesn’t end until March 4, 2026 . This gives Epic Games ample time to add files related to a season-end live event with the next Fortnite update , patch 39.20. The developers could also announce it with the 39.50 update, which will be the last update before Chapter 7 Season 2.

The most recent major live event was the Chapter 6 finale event titled “ Zero Hour .” The event took place on November 29, 2025 , at 2 PM ET. It was one of the game’s most ambitious events, bringing in massive Fortnite collaborations like Godzilla, Kong, Superman, and so many more against the Dark Presence in a final showdown. The event went on to become one of Fortnite’s most-watched events, with over 10.5 million players attending the finale.
Apart from the Zero Hour event, Epic Games featured their annual New Year’s ball drop on December 31, 2025. The event took place every hour on New Year’s Eve, welcoming the New Year across the world.
How to Join a Fortnite Live Event
Joining a Fortnite live event is relatively simple. Epic Games usually sends out an in-game announcement, as well as a social media announcement that the live event is happening. You can then load into Fortnite Battle Royale and find the playlist for the live event in your library. It is recommended that you load into a match at least 30 minutes before the event is set to happen. This is because lobbies fill up extremely quickly during major events.
It is also important to remember that Epic Games usually disables all of the other playlists for major live events. Once you join a major live event’s playlist, you might find yourself without a weapon. Epic Games does this to prevent any griefers from ruining the experience for a player, providing a community environment for the experience.
