How To Delete Comments On Instagram

• Delete a comment on the Instagram iOS app by selecting a post -> comment icon -> swiping left on unwanted comment -> trash icon.
• To delete a comment on the Android app, locate a post -> comment icon -> long-press the unwanted comment -> trash icon.
• You can delete multiple comments across various posts from the Your activity section inside Instagram settings.

Note You can delete both your and other people’s comments from an Instagram post you uploaded. For posts uploaded by someone else, you can only delete comments that you wrote, not the ones written by others.

On Android :

1. Visit the Instagram post from where you want to delete the comment.
2. Tap on the comments icon to open the comments section.
3. Long press on the comment till the blue pop-up bar appears.
4. Here, tap on the trash icon and the comment will be deleted.

On iPhone:

1. On your iPhone, head over to the Instagram post where you want to delete a comment.
2. Tap on the comments icon to expand the comments section of this post.
3. Swipe leftwards on the comment that you wish to remove.
4. Next, tap on the trash icon to get rid of that comment.

Once the comment is deleted, you should see a toast notification at the bottom that says, “Comment Deleted” along with an Undo option. If you accidentally deleted a comment, then tap on Undo to restore it.

The long-press method won’t be helpful if you are using Instagram on a desktop browser. Instead, use these alternate steps to delete a comment from any post.

1. Navigate to the Instagram post from where you want to delete the comment.
2. Now, click on the comments icon to view comments.
3. Hover the cursor over the particular comment that you want to delete.
4. Click on the three-dots icon underneath the comment.
5. Select the Delete option from the overflow menu.

Just like that you can get rid of a comment that either you have made on others’ posts or someone else did on yours.

1. Open Instagram and tap on your profile icon at the bottom right corner.
2. On your profile page, tap on the hamburger menu at the top right side.
3. Choose Your activity from the subsequent menu.

1. Tap on the Comments option under “Interactions”.
2. All the comments you have made will be listed here. Long press the comments that you want to delete.
3. Then, tap on Delete .
4. In the confirmation pop-up, tap on Delete .

There could be a couple of reasons why you are unable to delete your comment. Either the comment has already been removed from Instagram’s system, or the individual who uploaded the post where the comment was made. Or, the post was removed entirely and you are viewing an older version of the page.
