Doom The Dark Ages puts a medieval spin on id Software’s trademark first-person formula. Players once again assume the role of the mythic Doomslayer, an unrelenting force of destruction hell-bent on obliterating the armies of hell. While the setting is slightly different and the emphasis on the narrative is heavier, the gameplay loop is largely similar. You’ll still be ripping and tearing through massive combat arenas while fending off demons. So, if you’re wondering if the title’s runtime differs from the last two games, here’s how long it’ll take to beat Doom The Dark Ages.

Doom The Dark Ages ( review ) features 22 chapter s forming the game’s main campaign. Outside of this, players can gather collectible toys, codex entries, wraithstones for weapon upgrades, and unique skins. Its sizable open world levels also have hidden mini-bosses to increase your health, armor, and ammunition.
We at Beebom wrapped up the main story at around the 13-hour mark , so you can expect a similar runtime if you’re strictly focusing on the main objectives. This figure puts The Dark Ages right alongside Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal, since both games were of a similar length as far as the main campaign is concerned. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of how long it will take to beat Doom The Dark Ages in all modes:
In terms of post-game content, The Dark Ages, unlike Eternal, does not feature a multiplayer mode . This means that the replay value comes in the form of fresh playthroughs at higher difficulties, or revisiting levels to collect any items you might’ve missed.
With that being said, the game will receive a campaign DLC in the future. Its contents and release date are yet to be revealed, but Doom The Dark Ages’ Premium Edition comes bundled with the DLC pass, meaning Doomguy’s adventures are far from over.
