Jujutsu Kaisen fans are very well-versed in Gege Akutami’s style of storytelling. He is one such author who will not take much time to kill the major characters, giving fans a mini heart attack. For instance, in Jujutsu Kaisen, he killed everyone’s favorite Gojo and told the world that not every time a hero wins, sometimes it’s the bad guy who takes the trophy. Well, it’s been a while since JJK Modulo has arrived, and Gege didn’t hesitate to tease a major character’s forthcoming demise in Chapter 7.

Amidst the chaotic confrontation with curses, Yuuka’s brain illness takes centre stage in Chapter 7 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. She is seen visiting the doctor with Mary, who is actually Cross in disguise . There, we learn that the girl has been suffering from a bad headache, which made her doubt her brain health. So, after she went to a doctor, she learned that she has brain cancer. The chapter also reveals that she only has six months to live.
Well, instead of panicking, Yuuka is seen adopting compassion over despair. She starts talking about mortality and philosophy with Cross. The latter asks her why she chose him to accompany her to the doctor, to which she replied that she didn’t want to be alone.
The panel that revealed the heart-wrenching news marked as one of the grounded moments of JJK Modulo so far. The 16-year-old girl whom we met at the beginning of the story looks determined and hopeful towards life. And the recent chapter of the manga saw her trying to act mature and behave as if nothing had happened.
Jujutsu Kaisen made us believe that Gege Akutami is fascinated with suffering and how people act when they face death. Now, history is repeating itself as the author has teased Yuuka’s death this early . However, in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, nothing makes sense until it occurs, so whether the girl will die or survive, the revelation in JJK Modulo Chapter 7 has shaped the emotional core of the manga.
