Battlefield 6 Release Date
Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10 , as confirmed during the multiplayer gameplay event. Despite EA’s best attempts to keep the date under wraps, leaks revealed the release date prematurely. And now, we have official confirmation.

Battlefield 6 Platforms
Unlike its main rival in Call of Duty, Battlefield 6 is finally skipping old-gen machines and releasing solely on current-gen consoles. Here are all the platforms Battlefield 6 will be available on:
- PS5
- Xbox Series X/S
- PC
Battlefield 6 Open Beta
Battlefield 6 underwent rigorous testing via the Battlefield Labs program. The secretive playtest invited a small number of players to test out the game, making them sign NDAs in the process. Of course, those vows of secrecy were almost immediately voided by several players, who began sharing gameplay clips on YouTube.
Nevertheless, EA have confirmed that an Open Beta , which extends the playtest to all players, will kick off on August 7. The first Open Beta session will be part of an Early Access period available to players who signed up for Battlefield Labs or received a code via a Twitch Drop.
Following the Early Access period, the Open Beta will be available to all players across two weekends. These include:
- Open Beta Weekend One : August 9- August 10
- Open Beta Weekend Two : August 14-August 17
They added that players will be free to pick between Battlefield’s traditional class system, where weapons are tied to specific character classes, or a Call of Duty-esque weapon loadout system during the beta.
Battlefield 6 Setting
Details on Battlefield 6’s setting are scarce, but we do know that it’s set in the modern era and follows a conflict between a private military group and NATO. As revealed during the gameplay event, the military group is named ‘Pax Armata,’ and its attacks on territories including Belgium, Gibraltar, and Georgia have put the globe in a state of peril. The devs added that European nations such as France have been defecting to Pax Armata, who aim to nullify NATO’s influence.
The game’s events are confirmed to take place between 2027 and 2030, with missions spanning real-life locations such as Tajikistan, Cairo, Gibraltar, New York, and more.
Battlefield 6 Battle Royale
What initially began as a rumor was all but confirmed after footage from Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale mode leaked a few weeks ago . EA have now provided a small glimpse at the BR, revealing its sunny California setting and announcing that the mode will be joining Battlefield Labs in the future.
The BR is confirmed to be free-to-play, giving it a fighting chance against heavyweights such as Warzone and Fortnite. Furthermore, its BR map is said to take place on a map named ‘Granite’, which will be surrounded by a destructive ring made of a compound named ‘NXC.’
In terms of gameplay features, leaks suggest that custom weapon drops (akin to Warzone loadouts), vehicle containers locked behind keycard requirements, and priority missions that offer valuable rewards will be present in the BR mode. Another leak on the subject has hinted at an ‘Oversight System,’ which allows eliminated players to help their surviving teammates by operating drones, cameras, and turrets.
With the Battle Royale mode yet to be confirmed, we recommend taking these leaks with a grain of salt.
