With the Pet Mutations update, Grow a Garden has released a brand new mechanic that lets you give your friendly pets a power-up. This can help your high-level pets to gain a stat boost or an additional passive, which ultimately becomes fruitful for all your harvests. Now you can have better chances at getting shocked, gold, or any other high-value mutation, and hence better profits. So, if you want to know all about pet mutations in Grow a Garden, jump right in.

Grow a Garden Pet Mutations List
Now that you know how to mutate pets, it’s time that you learn about the different mutations your pets can have in the game. While some pets help increase XP and passive abilities, others can apply Grow a Garden mutations to fruits in your plot. So, check out this table with all the pet mutations in Grow a Garden:
How to Mutate Pets in Grow a Garden
As you might have already noticed, the Pet Eggs shop has no eggs on display and looks like a simple stall like any other in the game. And beside this Pet Eggs shop, you will find the new Pet Mutations station. There are two ways you can mutate pets in Grow a Garden.
1. Pet Mutation Station
Follow the steps to mutate your best pets in Grow a Garden using the pet mutation station:
- Head over to the Pet Mutation station to the left of the Gear and Pet Eggs stall.
- Equip any pet that’s aged 50 and above . The pet’s XP level needs to be 50 or more in order to mutate it.
- Now press the ‘E’ key to submit the pet and spend a whopping 1 Billion Sheckles to start the process.
- A timer will pop up stating how long it will take to mutate your pet.
- Once it ends, you can pick up your mutated pet by pressing the ‘E’ key.

2. Pet Mutation Shard
There are several limited-time mutation shards you can obtain in the game. These shards apply directly to a pet. Once you use it, the selected pet instantly gets the said mutation. For example, you can follow the cooking recipes in Grow a Garden and trade the food items for a Fried Mutation shard or an Aromatic Mutation shard.
