A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has arrived, and we met our protagonists, Ser Duncan the Tall and Egg. Following the death of his mentor, Ser Arlan of Pennytree, the former decides to carry forward his legacy. Ser Duncan heads toward Ashford for the jousting tournament, in which Ser Arlan was supposed to participate. On the way, he meets a bald-headed boy named Egg. Besides these two characters, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms also introduces us to some new faces of the familiar houses. One such newcomer is Lyonel Baratheon, who grabbed everyone’s attention with his loud personality.
Who Is Lyonel Baratheon in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?

Lyonel Baratheon is the great-grandfather of Robert, Renly, and Stannis Baratheon. Raymun Fossoway takes Ser Duncan the Tall to the tent of Lyonel Baratheon for supper, and that’s when we meet the man. Dunk looks at the person laughing loudly in one corner of the tent, and that’s when Raymun tells him that he is Lyonel Baratheon, the laughing storm. He actually has a habit of laughing loud everytime and that’s why people nicknamed him the laughing storm.
Lyonel Baratheon was the head of the Baratheons at the time A Knight of the Kingdoms is set. So, after Ser Duncan catches sight of one of Lyonel’s men in the tent, he is asked to come closer to the place where Lyonel has been sitting. Lyonel then asks Dunk if he has ever been punched in the face. After that, he says that if Dunk had the courage to come with an empty hand to his tent to ask him for a favor. However, when Dunc stands still without saying anything, Lyonel predicts that the tall man standing in front of him has come for his head. Seeing the prediction game going higher, Ser Duncan reveals that he has just come for supper and nothing else.
After that, Lyonel Baratheon asks Dunk to dance and he himself joins him on the dance floor. Later, the duo gets drunk and forms an unlikely bond. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms didn’t show much of the Baratheon lineage’s head in the first episode, but we can expect to see him more in the further installments.
